“True
Blood” adds another vampire to its fifth season. A spokesperson for
HBO has confirmed that Tina Majorino, who is best known
for her roles on “Veronica
Mars” and “Big Love“, lands a
recurring role as a key member of the Vampire Authority’s support
staff. She will first appear in the third episode which is slated to air
June 4.

In another news, Rutina Wesley
has confirmed that her character Tara will return to the upcoming
season, although she was shot in the head in the season 4 finale. “She’s
coming back! And how she comes back is going to be very, very, very
interesting,” the actress gushed when met at the show’s season 5 special
screening event on Wednesday, May 30.
Supporting Wesley’s
statement, creator Allan Ball said, “Tara is still a part of the show.
I’m sure fans have a lot of different ideas of how that could be
possible, and one of those ideas is correct.” One thing for sure is that
Eric and Bill could not help Sookie save her best friend.
“I
can tell you that Bill and Eric can’t come running to the rescue,”
Wesley told TV Guide “They just killed a member of the Authority, so
they’re going to have a big mess to clean up themselves, so Sookie’s
going to have to figure this out on her own. But, you know, she’s strong
and resourceful and doesn’t need a man to figure out her problems.”
She
further spilled the beans that Sookie and Tara’s relationship will be
different after the latter’s revived. She gushed, “That’s going to be
the interesting part to watch: Tara’s reaction to Sookie and Sookie’s
reaction to Tara. All I can say is it’s charged.”
“True Blood”
season 5 will premiere Sunday, June 10 at 9 P.M. ET on HBO. Christopher
Meloni joins the cast as the leader of Vampire Authority,
while Dennis O’Hare reprises his role as Russell Edgington. It was
recently also reported that Emmy winner Alfre Woodard
will return as Ruby Jean Reynolds, Lafayette’s schizophrenic mother.
