Emily Owens, M.D. is an American medical drama television series created by Jennie Snyder Urman. It was picked up by The CW on May 11, 2012, It premiered on The CW on October 16, 2012, and airs on Tuesdays at 9:00 pm Eastern/8:00 pm Central.
The series follows the life of Emily Owens (Mamie Gummer), a first-year intern at Denver Memorial Hospital, where she realizes that her med-school crush Will Collins (Justin Hartley) and her high school nemesis Cassandra Kopelson (Aja Naomi King) are also interning. Emily has to struggle with her affections for Will while trying to battle it out with Cassandra to land the coveted spot as the researchassistant of the world-famous cardiothoracic surgeon, Gina Bandari (Necar Zadegan).
