A list of potential judges in the upcoming
installment of “American
Idol” has grown longer with P. Diddy being rumored as a
contender. New York Post’s Page Six claims to have learned that
producers of the FOX reality series have reached out to the New
York-born MC about the possibility of him taking one of the judge seats.
The 42-year-old artist joins the likes of Adam
Lambert, Brad Paisley and Nick Jonas who were also mentioned
to be in the run for the judging gig. Lambert has said that he would be
flattered if “Idol” wanted to talk to him about the stint, while Nick
confirmed he’s “being considered to be a judge on American Idol,” adding
that “it would be a dream come true if it happens.”
On the other hand, Pink recently revealed that she was offered to be a judge on “American Idol”, “The X Factor (US)” and Australian “The Voice“, but said no. “I said no because you can’t be honest. People will hate you if you’re honest,” she told Australia’s Herald Sun about her reason turning down the job.
She continued explaining, “Simon Cowell is the only person who gets away with it because he’s got an accent. And he’s a man. People would just hate me more than they already do. I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings. Besides, you can sing karaoke anywhere…” It’s unclear, however, for which season the pop/rock singer was approached for the gig.
The twelfth cycle of “American Idol” will premiere in early 2013 with Ryan Seacrest returning as the host. Mariah Carey has signed up to be a new judge, but Randy Jackson’s fate on the show is still up in the air.
