NBC, however, has not confirmed nor denied the report first brought into attention by TVLine. “As you know, the show never comments on potential show content,” a representative for the network said. “As Maya impersonated Whitney, it’s a natural question, but one [to which] we do not have an answer.”

Should “SNL” feature a skit to honor Houston in the Saturday, February 18 episode, it would come just hours after the “Greatest Love of All” songstress’ is laid to rest. Her funeral is scheduled to take place in the noon at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.

Last weekend, the variety show paid tribute to Houston by featuring a still from her 1996 appearance in a sketch of the show alongside Molly Shannon. Rudolph herself has previously done Houston impersonation on “SNL”.
