Bryan Singer Only Producing X-Men: First Class

Bryan Singer steps down as director for X-Men: First Class

We reported last week that director Bryan Singer might only be producing an upcoming superhero film and now that news seems to be confirmed. Deadline New York is reporting that Singer will only be producing X-Men: First Class, and won't be directing the film.

Singer is slated to begin production on his new film Jack the Giant Killer this summer and the site reports that Fox liked the script by Jamie Moss so much they want to fast-track the film for a summer 2011 release, which means Singer wouldn't be available to direct the project, due to his commitment with Jack the Giant Killer, which is a Warner Bros. film.

It was said that Fox is currently looking for directors for the film and it was also reported that the studio is looking to turn this film into a new trilogy. Moss' story was said to revolve around the origin of Professor Xavier and Magneto's conflict.
