‘Modern Family’ Young Stars Also Seeking Salary Raises

After the adult stars of “Modern Family” settled their contract dispute with 20th Century Fox Television, the young cast members of the show are now seeking salary raises. Words are, Sarah Hyland, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez and Ariel Winter will begin their negotiations with the studio this week.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that representatives for the child actors will be seeking big raises for their clients in exchange for adding an eighth season onto their seven-season contracts. Though so, their negotiations are not expected to be as intense as the adult stars’ and won’t likely cause a delay to the production of season 4, which will start Monday, July 30.

It is also said that Gould, Rodriguez and Winter have considered to follow the adult stars’ strategy by banding together in the salary negotiations. Hyland, meanwhile, is likely to negotiate separately since she allegedly has already made more than the other young stars.

As for Aubrey Anderson-Emmons who joined the cast in the fourth season as Mitchell and Cameron’s daughter Lily, she may not receive a big raise since she has a smaller role on the show.

‘True Blood’ Season 5 Episode 9 Preview: Salome Wants to ‘Birth a New World’ With Bill

Supernatural – Season 8 – Casting News – DJ Qualls Returning

While promoting his new show on FX, Legit, at the TCA Summer Press Tour, Qualls confirmed he’ll be heading back to Vancouver in a few weeks for another adventure as supernatural hunter, Garth Fitzgerald IV.

“I’ll go back to Supernatural in a couple of weeks. It’s one of my favorite shows to moonlight on. Jared Padalecki is a really good buddy of mine and also they wrote the part for me. ”

And that’s kind of an honor when somebody calls you and says, Hey, we wrote this for you. You probably are not going to do it. I read it and I said, No, this is funny and I’d love to do it. And I’m having a great time.

The fans on that show are insane. I did one [a convention] in Birmingham, England. And literally people would just line up and hug you and cry. And it’s like, I am so boring in real life. This is really flattering, but you should see me ten minutes before I got here. I was like a wreck. They love it. 

Legit is a new FX comedy starring Australian comic Jim Jefferies, Dan Bakkedahl and DJ Qualls. Legit will be on the FX schedule in January of 2013.

The Office – Season 9 – Jake Lacy becomes new regular

Better With You actor Jake Lacy is joining NBC’s The Office as a series regular next season.

Not a whole lot is known about Lacy’s role, but sources say he’ll play a new hire named Pete who’s also a potential love interest for Erin (Ellie Kemper). In describing his new gig to a cute barista in a rough-draft scene, Pete quips, “Not only am I the new guy who has to do the coffee runs, but it’s a paper company, so pretty much a non-stop adrenaline rush.”

Lacy was going to star in Fox’s midseason comedy The Goodwin Games next season, but was replaced by T.J. Miller after the pilot was shot. The Office is adding some new characters while saying goodbye next season to B.J. Novak, Mindy Kaling and James Spader. Expect Kaling, who’s launching The Mindy Project on Fox this fall, to have a chance to send off her character on The Office this fall.

CBS in Early Conversations About ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Season 9

CBS is working on extending “How I Met Your Mother” run beyond its upcoming season 8. President of CBS Entertainment Nina Tassler has stated that the network wants a ninth season of the sitcom and has begun negotiations on it.

“They had an incredible year last year and we have a great relationship with Craig [Thomas] and Carter [Bays]. They have a strategic wrap-up to the show. They know we want the show to come back next year,” she said. “We’re not there yet in terms of [renewing HIMYM]. We’re having conversations right now about extending it. We’re in early conversations and we’re pretty optimistic.”

Speaking to TVLine, co-creator Craig Thomas even expressed his optimism that the show could get a tenth season. “It’s not impossible it could go beyond Season 9,” he said, when asked if the possible ninth season would be the last. As for how negotiations for the possible ninth season impact season 8, he admitted that the talks could change his trajectory.

Still, he added, “But right now, the thing that we know to be true is we have this year and no deal for next year. So we have to proceed as though this could be the last year of HIMYM. Hopefully we will know soon. Basically, we couldn’t possibly know soon enough. But we’d be thrilled to tell either story – either wrap it up this year or to tell another chapter of this story. We don’t know yet which way it’s going to go.”

Speaking about the forthcoming chapter, Thomas said there would be story arcs which allow Marshall and Lily to still gather around Ted, Robin and Barney although they have entered parenthood. “We’re going to tell a story figuring out, ‘Who’s our babysitter? Who’s our nanny? Who’s going to help us with this?” he spilled.

“There’s a cool and meaningful answer to that question that we’ll see Marshall and Lily arrive at in the first few episodes,” Thomas continued teasing. “It will free them up to have at least the occasional beer with the gang. And the gang will consider [the baby] the sixth member of this group. It’s going to be very sweet.”

HIMYM season 8 will premiere Monday, September 24 at 8 P.M. on CBS. Ashley Williams will return for a multi-episode arc as Ted’s love interest Victoria, and Michael Trucco will reprise his role as the man who catches Robin’s eyes known only as “Crush”.

Criminal Minds Season 8 Episode 4 – Reid to get Love Interest

It seems like someone has put Morgan’s pick-up tips to good use. Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) will get a girlfriend on Criminal Minds‘ upcoming eighth season, executive producer Erica Messer tells TVGuide.com.

“It’s finally happening! He’s gonna have a love interest,” she says. “It will be a little arc and it’s gonna be good.”

The lucky lady, who has yet to be cast, will be introduced in Episode 4. “They met because of a love of an author and they’re both fans,” Messer says. “I would say the idea of her is introduced first and we go from there.”

But how will everyone’s favorite, socially inept genius fare when it comes to matters of the heart? Not very well, if you ask Gubler. “I don’t know much at this point, but I’m dubious about all of this,” he says. “Could you imagine Reid dating? I’m curious to see where this goes. He doesn’t know how to date!”

Though that may be true, Messer believes it’s time to go there with Reid, who shared a pool smooch with actress Lila Archer (guest star Amber Heard), whom he was protecting, way back in Season 1.

“I can promise you this,” she says, “It will be like no other relationship on TV.”

Nancy’s identity is not constructed in the same way most women on television are but she still maintains the core elements expected of a woman. The show’s appeal is derived from the audience’s ability to relate Nancy’s character to what they believe is the norm. This show’s popularity comes from the fact that Nancy is not the kind of person that audiences would expect to see from a California pot dealer. Gossip Girl Will Rerun on Style Network

Before the summer is over, Gossip Girl will be back in style. Or on Style, we should say really.

The Style Network announced today that it has acquired the off-network rights to this CW hit. It will begin showing reruns on August 15 from 8-11 p.m. and will air a three-hour block of episodes every Wednesday night.

It will also air a marathon on Labor Day, September 3.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ to Let Viewers Pick One Returning Star

Just days before the official announcement is made, rumor is floating around regarding who will be competing in the “Dancing with the Stars” all-stars edition. Entertainment Weekly learns that there is a twist in the casting process as ABC will reportedly let audience pick one of the returning stars.

When ABC unveils the cast line-up on Friday, July 27, the network will also announce three names whom fans can vote to get the final spot on the show. Words are, Carson Kressley, who was one of the most entertaining contestants in season 13, will be among those who can be chosen.

As for the other possible contestants, Melissa Rycroft from season 8, Joey Fatone from season 4 and Pamela Anderson from season 10 are said to be some of them who nab the spots without going through the viewers’ vote stage.

Pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy recently hinted that he would return to the “DWTS” ballroom in the next installment. “I can’t wait to see who I’m going to get. I’m going to have a great time,” he told Celebuzz. “This is going to be the first time we don’t start from scratch but pick it up where you left off.”

“The advantage is going to be with the couple that was on a recent season,” the Ukraine-born dancer gushed. “If you’re going to be paired with someone coming back from season 2, he or she is probably going to have a bit of a harder time getting back into it than someone who was on the last season.”

Speaking of other pro dancers who will join the upcoming fifteenth season, he coyly said, “We have some new pros, [as] some old pros won’t be coming back.”

This turns out to be himself, and he’s replaced by a bureaucratic robot. In order to reclaim his job and be more efficient, he starts augmenting himself with robotic parts. It starts with a harpoon in his chest, before he eventually is almost entirely robotic. He eventually wants to get a robot brain installed by Professor Farnsworth, who digs up the brain of the psychopathic stabbing robot Roberto, who was killed after he threatened to steal LaBarbara’s skin.

Hermes eventually gets his robot brain, though his human brain is put back in his old body that Zoidberg kept and was using as a ventriloquist’s dummy. Roberto is felled when he tries to eat Hermes’ skin, which melts him when it proves to be too spicy thanks to years of LaBarbara’s Jamaican cooking.

Once Upon A Time – Season 2 -Sinqua Walls cast as Sir Lancelot

Sinqua Walls, who as of late has been recurring on MTV’s Teen Wolf as pack member Boyd, has been cast on ABC’s fantastical sophomore drama as Sir Lancelot, TVLine has learned exclusively.

I’m hearing that Once Upon a Time will introduce Lancelot as a “sword for hire with nothing to lose,” a onetime proud member of King Arthur’s Round Table who has since been banished, tearing him away from his true love (Queen Guinevere, as lore tells us).

Already for Season 2 (premiere date TBA), Once has cast the roles of Sleeping Beauty and Mulan, and promoted Emilie de Ravin (aka “Belle”) and Meghan Ory (Ruby/Red Riding Hood) to series regular status.

Though unconfirmed by ABC, sources tell me Walls will appear in at least two episodes as Lancelot. The actor’s other TV credits include Friday Night Lights (playing Jamarcus Hall), The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Pair of Kings.

‘Glee’ Promotes Chord Overstreet to Regular, Casts Puck’s Half-Brother in Season 4

While some actors will be appearing less in “Glee” season 4 than in the previous seasons, Chord Overstreet will have more scenes in the upcoming season. It has been reported that the Sam Evans depicter is upped to a series regular when he returns for the forthcoming chapter.

Beside Evans and the remaining members such as Tina, Artie and Blaine, the New Directions will welcome a new addition. “Blue Lagoon: The Awakening” star Jacob Artist has been cast in the role of Jake, Puck’s younger half-brother who auditions for the glee club, but his bad-boy attitude could land him in trouble.

Also joining the cast is Dean Geyer, who recently played security guard Mark Reynolds on “Terra Nova“. The Aussie hunk is cast as Brody Weston who is described as a handsome upperclassman at NYADA. His arrival may create a possible love rivalry for Finn since Brody shows an interest in Rachel.

Prior to recruiting Artist and Geyer, “Glee” has nabbed Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson to appear in multi-episode arcs. Executive producer Ian Brennan recently revealed that the “Sex and the City” alumna would play a frazzled, eccentric and hilarious character who is “running Vogue.com,” while the “Bride Wars” actress would portray Cassandra July, Rachel’s dance teacher at NYADA.

“Glee” will return with the fourth season starting Thursday, September 13 at 9 P.M. on FOX. The first episode is titled “The New Rachel” and will see Lea Michele’s alter ego singing a Barbra Streisand song.
